Dear Experts,
I am trying to create DARTEL-imported data using the New Segmentation
tool of SPM8.
The data I am working on are in hdr/img-format (188.7 MB per scan).
I am using a MacBook (Mac OS X 10.6.2, Memory: 4 GB; Matlab R2009a,
32-bit; latest SPM8)
Now, when I take only one data set and specify to only save the
DARTEL-imported output for GM (nothing else), I get the following error
message:
%%%%%%%%% Error-Message (Start) %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Running job #1
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Running 'New Segment'
Failed 'New Segment'
Error using ==> zeros

The following modules did not run:
Failed: New Segment
%%%%%%%%% Error-Message (End) %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
However, observing the memory usage of Matlab while it is working on the
data set (using Mac's Activity Monitor Utility), Matlab never uses more
than 400 MB.
So, my questions:
(a)
Is anybody familiar with this problem and found a way to solve it?
(b)
Is it really a memory problem?
(c)
I am not sure whether this helps: I have other data sets which I
converted from DICOM to NIFTI using SPM8. Those data sets are much
smaller than the current data sets which I have only in ANALYZE format.
So, would it help to convert the current data sets from ANALYZE to
NIFTI, and how would I do that - would the mri_convert utility of the
FreeSurfer software package work for that?
Thanks very much for any help!
All the best,
-Lucas
