the beta search or search beta at the British Library which I haven't read much of lis-linkers playing with seems to touch on the matter of web2.0, whatever that means, and the concept subject, if only we knew what that meant?
I've been trying to work out what the thing means for the catalogue, whatever that means, and how to use it.
For anyone interested in lis, whatever that means, it seems, we have something with which we have to deal, and we have to deal with it separately from the concept, subject?

Subject: Use of Web 2.0 to repackage subject-based content in Academic Libraries
**apologies for cross posting**
Dear LIS-LINK Members,
For my MA dissertation, I am investigating the use of specific Web 2.0 to=
ols in=20
UK academic libraries to deliver subject-based information to users. Rese=
arch=20
to date suggests a key role for subject/liaison librarians in filtering a=
nd=20
repackaging information using Web 2.0. This study will seek to identify t=
he=20
extent to which Web 2.0 tools are being used; factors driving and impedin=
g=20
implementation of Web 2.0 services and information regarding the training=
=20
needs of staff.
I would like to invite academic librarians to take part in my research by=
=20
answering an online questionnaire, which should take around 20 minutes to=
=20
complete. The information provided will remain confidential and the data=
=20
anonymised in the final report.=20
Your contribution to this project will help to address some of the gaps i=
n the=20
current literature concerning the role of the academic librarian in deliv=
ering=20
value-added services. As a participant, you will also have access to a=20=
summary of the research findings on completion of the dissertation.
The questionnaire can be accessed via the following link:

Thank you for your time
Kind regards
Alison Derbyshire
