Dear All,
I'm pleased to announce that the call for speakers and workshop
facilitators for the Institutional Web Management Workshop 2010 (IWMW
2010 #iwmw10) is now open.
The workshop will be held at the University of Sheffield from Monday
12th to Wednesday 14th July 2010.
As participants at previous events will be aware this workshop is aimed
at those involved in management of institutional Web services. The
workshop aims to address a broad range of topics including strategic,
managerial, marketing, resourcing and technical issues.
This year's theme is 'The Web in Turbulent Times' covering budget cuts,
changing political climes and environmental concerns. Is there a real
need for innovation at this time or should we just be keeping our heads
down? We would like to encourage any submissions which will contribute
to the debate over the future of our Web services. This includes plenary
talks, institutional case studies and workshop sessions, which provide
an opportunity for more interactive and participative activities. Other
possible topics could range from Web 2.0, cloud computing, Web
applications and mobile technologies to e-Learning, linked data, user
issues and staff development.
Further ideas and information are available from the IWMW Web site:
http://iwmw.ukoln.ac.uk/iwmw2010/call/
The deadline for submissions is Friday 5th March 2010 but we would
encourage early submissions in order to help us to spot any gaps in the
proposals.
If you would like to discuss possible submissions feel free to contact
myself or Brian Kelly ([log in to unmask]).
Thanks
Marieke
