I am moving to a new role at the University of Warwick's library, where I will be taking on the role of Academic Support Manager for Research, from the beginning of March this year. You will take responsibility for the management of the day-to-day running and development of the Library's e-repositories service including providing line management to the E-Repositories Assistant. You will work with the Deputy Librarian and Library Management Group to develop the strategic direction of the repositories, to establish priorities, and to develop and implement policies and procedures. You will also lead an advocacy campaign to ensure maximum awareness of the benefits of the repositories across the University.
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and hold (or be working towards) an Information Management qualification. You must have experience of working with repositories or other relevant data set systems and an awareness and understanding of current scholarly communication issues and developments. Excellent team working and relationship building skills, a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, plus advocacy and influencing skills are also essential. You will have a range of IT skills with working knowledge of Web-based publishing tools and practices. Experience of staff management would be desirable.
