Just to confirm with what other people have said:
- Go with what you are comfortable with. If you are a windows shop you
shouldn't have to use Linux and vice versa. The only nit I know about
Windows is that if you have a 64 bit OS you may find that you need to
install a 32 bit java (but I'm still investigating that). I'd avoid Win2K,
but I've run the IdP on pretty much everything more recent than that.
- If you are happy with Apache httpd use it. But if it is going to be
another black box ignore it.
- I would *strongly* recommend Java 6 or later.
The only must is that if you go for Tomcat (and I'd really really really
recommend it), you must use a recent Tomcat6.
In general, the more "normal" your install is the easier things will be. So
if you want to run it on OS360 using WebApp, you may get there but no one
will be able to help you on your route.
