Hello
My query is of specific relevance to medical education, as I am
interested in gaining a broad overview of assessment practices in
medical schools.
I would value receiving an indication of examples currently in use where
student skills or traits (such as numeracy, emotional intelligence or
professionalism, to name but a few) are measured using a
validated scale and therefore where it is unlikely that questions will
be altered from one sitting to another.
These examples could relate to formative or summative tests used by all
students or simply tools which are available for students to assess
progress on a voluntary basis.
They could also include a variety of assessment methodologies, including
external, self- and peer-assessment. However, I would expect in each
case that students would receive a final mark to represent performance.
I am particularly interested in examples where there is unlikely to be a
problem with case specificity caused by differences in content across
case scenarios.
Please feel free to say if there is anything you would like me to
clarify.
Thank you in advance for your kind assistance and apologies for cross-posting.
Best wishes
Margaret MacDougall
