Dear colleagues
If you know of any students who are looking for a graduate programme for
next year, please pass on this message.
The M.Phil. in Social and Developmental Psychology at Cambridge now
includes the option to specialize in psychology of religion for the
duration of the course. It is a 9-month course (October-June) and there
are places available for 2010-2011. Applications are welcome through the
end of June 2010. Please note that all funded places have already been
taken so all applicants at this point will need to be self-funded.
The course is assessed by three 5,000-word papers and one empirical
dissertation. The course also includes an opportunity for graduate-level
training in psychometrics and quantitative and qualititative research
methods.
M.Phil. students choosing to specialize in psychology of religion also
have the opportunity to join my Religious Cognition Research Lab, which
currently includes 4 doctoral students and 3 M.Phil. students; most of us
are focusing on some aspect or other of how religious believers and
non-believers represent God cognitively and emotionally. There is also the
opportunity to participate in the wider interdisciplinary Psychology and
Religion Research Group (directed by Fraser Watts), which includes some 25
students and faculty in different departments in the University.
More details of the course are available at

You're welcome to get in touch in advance of any application if you'd like
to explore specific research ideas.
Best wishes,
Nicholas Gibson
