Assistant Records Manager (Schools) - Solihull MBC (Salary £19,126 – £27,052)

Full Time, 37 hours.
Temporary Contract - Up to End March 2011.

Schools in the borough. A Records Management (or equivalent) graduate or
with equivalent work experience in a records management environment, you
will have the drive, determination and energy to help deliver our future needs
and the wider public sector agenda. Newly qualified graduates are welcome to

The main duties of the post will be to provide day-to-day support to schools in
matters relating to Records Management and the Data Protection Act (DPA)
and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). With regard to records management,
the main duties of the post will be to undertake information audits where
necessary and to contribute towards the development of retention schedules,
file plans, action plans and guidance for schools. With regard to the DPA and
FOIA the main duties of the post will be to help schools understand and apply
both the legislation and also the Information Commissioners guidance on these
laws.
You will have a clear understanding of the implications of ISO 15489 and the
legislative framework underpinning the DPA and FOIA. You will be confident
with the use of IT, able to work to deadlines under pressure and will be willing
to travel across the borough as required.
