EVENT: General Latent Variable Modelling using MPlus, Cambridge, UK
The UK Mental Health Research Network Methodology Research Group in
conjunction with the University of Cambridge, Department of Psychiatry
is pleased to invite researchers to a series of lectures on: General
Latent Variable Modelling using MPlus.
Dates: Wednesday 6th January 2010 to Friday 8th January 2010
Location: Li Ka-Shing Lecture Theatre, Cancer Research UK Building,
Addenbrookes Hospital site, Cambridge, UK
Time: The programme will begin at 2.15 pm on Wednesday 6th January and
end at 12.45 pm on Friday 8th January.
The lectures are will be delivered by:
Professor Graham Dunn, University of Manchester
Professor Andrew Pickles, University of Manchester, and
Dr Tim Croudace, University of Cambridge (the local host).

Cost: These lectures will be free to staff and postgraduate students
everywhere, but there will be a charge for commercial attendees (please
contact Tim Croudace on [log in to unmask] for details of commercial prices).
Content: The material will comprise introductory, intermediate and
advanced level perspectives on General Latent Variable Modelling using
MPlus software.
Venue: The lectures will take place in the Li Ka-Shing Centre lecture
theatre, which is alongside the foyer of the Cancer Research UK
Cambridge Research Institute, at Robinson Way on the Addenbrookes
Hospital Site. The lecture theatre accommodates a maximum of 200 seated
persons. Approximately 100 are expected to attend.
Registration: To register please email Dr Tim Croudace on [log in to unmask]
indicating the days that you wish to attend appended to the title (e.g.
Mplus2010 6-7-8 all days).
Important notes for participants:
Catering: Please note that in order to minimise costs there will be only
limited catering. Provision of refreshments and food will be limited to
coffee and tea on Wednesday and Friday (no food will be served). Only on
Thursday, when there are lectures all day, will there be a lunch. Let us
know any diet options.
Computing: You are welcome to bring your laptop, but be aware that there
are no sockets in the lecture theatre for you to power up during
sessions. Laptop use is therefore restricted to battery life only.
Demonstrations: There will be no interactive sessions involving computer
use by attendees, and no computing lab available for participant typing
or running scripts. However, the lectures will include some relevant
syntax and output/screenshots.
Lecture slides: All attendees will be given black and white copies of
the lecture slides (4 per page). We regret that these will not be
available to participants who register but do not attend, nor will they
be sent out to any enquirers who do not register. PowerPoint slides will
not be web-mounted during the event; paper copies will be distributed on
arrival each day.
