Kevin is right.
CStat is a professional qualification offered by the Royal Statistical Society.
CSci is a professional qualification offered by the Science Council. The latter has recognised that a CStat means that someone fulfils the requirements of CSci, so CStats can also apply for CSci status if they wish.

My understanding (though this is open to correction) is that this isn't a transfer, it's an additional status, that is, if you're a CStat you can apply for CSci as well but you will still be a chartered statistician. No comment on whether doing so is a good idea or not.

Any views please on the rationale of transferring from CStat to CSci?
The RSS appears to be promoting the move but if CStat is recognised as a
specific professional badge, I can't see the point of diluting it to a
vague generic term. If "chartered" implies a competence and attitude,
isn't it helpful to outsiders to spell out one is a CStat, distinct from
a CSci, Clawyer, Cplumber etc?
Mentoring advice sought!
