Job Description:
Within its Global Sourcing and Search strategic business unit, Lionbridge
Technologies has an opportunity for a Statistical Analyst to join its expanding
Analytics team. The role will directly support the Operations and Quality teams
through statistical analysis of both Customer and Internal operational data -
focusing on Quality measurements, productivity analysis and capacity/supply
chain management.
The role will be required to Support program teams through analysis
in delivering increased efficiencies and effectiveness across operational and
customer platforms.
Undertake appropriate data analysis for ad hoc projects.
lead the development of statistical modelling, supporting our expanding
customer base of Internet Search, Mobile Navigation and Community
Sourcing organizations, focusing on historic data to develop predictive
analytics. The role has significant scope for development by the successful
candidate who demonstrates the intellectual and implementation skills
necessary to succeed in a Web 2.0 environment.
The role reports to the Director of Analytics and will work within the
developing analytical practice of Lionbridge Technologies. The role is based on
site in Ballina, Co. Mayo. This is a 9 month contract role with an option of
permanency which is dependant on performance within the role.
Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:
Collect, organize and analyse operational data/information for global
programs.
Apply advanced statistical methodologies to the review and analysis
of operational data.
Develop statistical models focusing on predictive analytics, using
large scale historic data sets.
Deliver insights to production teams through statistical analysis of
program results and activities.
Directly support operation teams in the interpretation and application
of statistical results.
Support program teams through analysis in delivering increased
efficiencies and effectiveness across operational and customer platforms.
Undertake appropriate data analysis for ad hoc projects.
Key Skills:
Excellent statistical knowledge and experience.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent knowledge of several statistical analysis applications eg:
SAS, SPSS or similar.
Strong communication skills and ability to present statistical results
to management teams.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Self directed and ability to use own initiative.
Ability to work co-operatively with others to establish and maintain
good working relationships.
The highest levels of integrity in the successful completion of your
work.
Education & Experience:
At a minimum, Candidates should:
Hold a relevant primary degree (2.1 or higher) in Statistics, and be
working toward or hold a recent Masters in a statistical related discipline.
Have at least 2 years + experience in applying statistical analysis
and modelling to operational data.
Be experienced with SQL, MYSQL or similar statistical/mathematical
programming skills.
Demonstrate the ability to think laterally as well as logically.
Be prepared to defend their assumptions and theories when
challenged by some of the brightest Customers in the industry.
