I am a very new user of SPM, and I'm having some issues getting the suite to
run on MATLAB R2009b on WinXP (32-bit) SP3. I have unzipped the files and
updates into a folder outside of the MATLAB toolboxes, added that folder to
the search path, and while I am reasonably sure that the first time I ran
SPM, it initialized with no problem, I am getting the following error now:
>> spm
??? Undefined function or method 'spm_matlab_version_chk' for
input arguments of type 'char'.
Error in ==> spm>check_installation at 1195
if spm_matlab_version_chk('7.1') < 0
Error in ==> spm at 297
check_installation;
Going to the relevant line in the spm.m script shows that it is a function
cinsisting of an if statement which should either be returning an error
message or simply moving on:
if spm_matlab_version_chk('7.1') < 0
error([...
'SPM8 requires MATLAB 7.1 onwards in order to run.\n'...
'This MATLAB version is %s\n'], version);
end
However, that error message is not being displayed (and it should not occur
anyhow). Has anyone else run into this problem or know how I can fix it?
