Good morning,
Apologies for two messages in one day, but we have another question, this
time about the notation system for our business classification scheme. By
notation we mean a reference system, with a unique entry for each category
in the scheme, we have found examples of alpha, alpha numeric and numeric
systems. Examples would be the

0.Pdf and

These are the reasons we are considering developing a notation system:
 It would provide a neutral entry for the bi-lingual terms and allow the
two languages to be equal, not synonyms of each other and neither language
would take precedence.
 If the classification scheme needed to be printed off as a hierarchy
but there was no mind-map or similar functionality, the notation would provide
the hierarchy structure.
 As the BCS is updated, an intelligent notation field would detect new
numbers and integrate in its correct position within the hierarchy
Our questions for those of you that have been developing business
classification schemes are:
--- do you have a notation system?
--- if so, why did you decide to develop and use it?
--- if not, did you consider it as an option and if so, why did you reject it?
Again, we’re really grateful for your thoughts and comments!
Best regards,
Hilde Elisabeth Haaland
