This is interesting because it makes me think of Christopher Isherwood
saying; I am a camera. Interesting in that Isherwood is one of the
greats when it comes to free indirect discourse. Even his later small
novel, A Single Man, is so enmeshed in FID that you are basically
unaware what is happening or from what POV you the reader are in.
