Hi Tina do you have any sort of residents association? Councils feel more
pressured by a group of people ( as no doubt you are quite aware -here in
Raynes Park Sw20 we seem to be having battles all the time
Our latest nightmare is a proposal for in a two storey area of housing for
a 5 storey of a warehouse cliff face

In use around the clock!!(it transpires) Another proposal is bringing waste
from all over London to a waste treatment centre (next to our little railway
station which the developers called 'Rainbow centre '

I have used several of my poems to attack these
Cheers for now best of luck -must feed the cat -which seems to be trying to
get onto the keyboard to remind me of more important issues

PLANNING APPLICATION
WAREHOUSE RAYNES PARK

take a dozy
charming idyllic
much sought after
area of Edwardian
artisan cottages
take a developer
who sees the site
as ripe for a
greedy development
industrial storage
heady cliff face
six storeys or so a
monstrous carbuncle
thunder heavy vehicles
all around the clock
sell it to locals as an
super environmental
great improvement
clouds gather
over Raynes Park
but good news
our planners
will protect us
-----------
maybe TOURIST ATTRACTION

they are
proposing
a rubbish dump
only a hundred
thousand tons a year!
at Raynes Park station
they are calling it
Rainbow Eco Park
green so green
green all green green
isn't it wonderful
all those exciting
refuse vehicles
popping in and out!
all those rats are
jumping for joy!

Subject: Hello

Dear all,

Dec 16th was supposed to be a good day for me. Generally, I work very hard
and I was hoping to finish at work around 1.00p.m., collect my children
early from school, and then start relaxing/planning for Christmas. Things
didn't turn out quite that way. I got home to discover that my
next-door-neighbour of four months (number 30, Stonewell Crescent, Nuneaton)
had put in planning application to turn his back garden into a housing
estate (I am not exaggerating and that is only the tip of a very large
iceberg). I have learned a lot of other things recently. I have learned
that the Labour government of the last few years has allowed gardens to be
considered as brownfield sites and that greenspace in this country has
dwindled considerably over the last few years (especially in London).

I have learned that most of my neighbours are very lovely people. I have
learned that my neighbour at number 30 (Andrew Fletcher) is a lovely young
man from a very, very shady family and that I am only just beginning to
understand how shady property developers can be.

The next few days could be quite interesting in my little, tiny corner of
the world. My postcode is CV11 4TA - just in case you are interested.

Happy New Year

Tina
