Hi
Does anyone have any experience they'd be willing to (briefly, on-list
or off-list) share of organising competitions/challenges where the
public are asked to edit, compile or mash up objects from an online
collection, whether film, images or other digital objects? I'm thinking
of things less like the Science Museum's Cosmic Collections where the
data is exposed to make use of and more like more like the BBC's digital
revolution competition where the entrant's output is a single composite
media object, made with provided material.
If you've ever done something like this, I'd be really interested to
know how you motivated people to take part, whether the standard of
entries was acceptable, how did you deal with technical queries, did you
use third parties to host/manage entrants' objects, etc?
TIA for your help
Danny
