INFORMATION PROFESSIONAL AWARD 2010
Do you know someone that is deserving of this prize? Is that someone you?
SLA Europe is offering the opportunity to win an expenses-paid trip to the
SLA Conference in New Orleans, June 2010. The prize, funded by Dow Jones,
is given to the winner of the SLA Europe Information Professional Award 2010
(SLA Europe IP 2010).
The current Award holder is Gimena Campos Cervera, Senior Information
Researcher in the U.S. Embassy to Italy, Office of Public Affairs, in Rome.
Gimena commented: “The IP Award was a great opportunity to grow
professionally and spread the word about SLA in Italy. It gave me the chance
to meet many incredibly interesting people from all over the world, during
the Centennial Conference in Washington D.C. and the European venues in London."
The Award, now in its 17th year, recognises outstanding achievement in the
information profession. Past winners of the Award include Janet Hopkins
(Drueker, Germany), Marie-Madeleine Salmon, (Publicis, France), Will Hann
(Freepint, UK) and Annabel Colley (BBC, UK). Nominees must demonstrate (in
writing) the contribution they have made to the profession. As well as the
trip to the Conference, the winner is invited to speak at the SLA Europe
Soiree in July and Online Information in December; and to write for SLA
Further information and the nomination form can be downloaded from the SLA
Europe website at http://www.sla-europe.org. A magnum of champagne will be
given to the person who nominates the winner (if not self-nominated).
