I have learned that it is MUCH easier to attract adults with children. The children come over first and their adults come 'attached'. Initially trying to disengage their kids, if you are good enough they will often become engaged themselves. 'Unaccompanied adults' will only stop walking past when you already have a small crowd. Then they will hover shyly on the outer fringe.

Hi Gemsters
I have some students who are volunteering in a museum outreach 'shop' in a city centre
shopping centre. Their aim is to engage passing members of the public with drop in
activities which relate to the museum collections; possibly through art related activities.
There are currently a range of natural science objects in the shop.
Has anybody had any experience of trying to engage adults in this way? Any ideas or
evaluations of projects would be welcome.
cheers
Nick
