Colleagues
One of the ISO Committees (JTC1 SC 36) has been working on a new
standard for metadata for education. The aim is to have a standard
that is as interoperable with the IEEE LOM as possible, and fully
compatible with DC metadata. The work has led to what we hope is RDF
compliant and meets the goals. The relevant document is long, and
detailed, but we hope it is clear.
Anyone who is interested can work with their National Body (if their
country is a member of ISO JTC1 SC 36). This is very helpful as we are
not always sure that those who come to the meetings have been able to
get good advice from within their country.
But I am asking for some people to help me as the DC representative
check that we, as DCMI participants, are happy with what is being
proposed. Already I have some issues with the latest version, but
without lodging a formal comment, we cannot have anything altered, so
I will have to make sure I write up my issues correctly. I am hoping
some others can help me in this process.
Please let me know if you are willing and able to help.
