For two weeks only, UKRC"s guest blogger is Almut Gruner, Chief Executive of the Thackray Medical Museum.
This is a chance to find out how Almut - not from a science background herself - has become passionate about medial history and the science and engineering of medicine.

Subject: [PSCI-COM] The Science and Trust Expert Group wants to hear from you...
Dear all
Some of you will be aware of the five expert groups that have been set up to take the Science and Society Strategy for the UK forward. If you want more information on the groups, how they've been established, and the consultation that preceded them, please see http://interactive.dius.gov.uk/scienceandsociety/site/ <http://interactive.dius.gov.uk/scienceandsociety/site/> .
The "Science and Trust" Expert Group is working to develop an action plan around public trust and confidence in science. But we're not just aiming for a public that blindly trusts science without asking the right questions.
With that in mind, we'd like to hear your views, specifically on:
* What one thing would need to change in order to increase society's capacity to make informed judgements about science and its use? What can we do in a) Government, b) Business c) Academia and elsewhere?
* What's the best way for organisations to communicate their ethical practices to communities and individuals within society?
* We're aware of a plethora of Codes of Practice across the spectrum of science and social science. What do you think makes a useful code, and do you think there should be one overarching code of practice?
* What key lesson can we learn from other sectors?
You can either forward your views to [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> , or answer our questionnaire at http://tiny.cc/Z28jV <http://tiny.cc/Z28jV> between now and 30 November.
We look forward to hearing from you.
