This may be of interest, given the way Norman Bryson makes a distinction
between gay as concerned with short term civil reforms and queer as
concerned with majority issues and the way homophobia affects entire
social and cultural formations. It then comments very nicely on Todd
Haye's first film, Poison, which can appear rather bleak, perhaps like,
The Last of England, by nominal aphasia (???) shot as it is with super
8, which can add to the bleakness.
