Researcher in Epidemiology and Statistics
Grade 7 - £28,839 to £35,469
Applications are invited for the full time post of Researcher in
Epidemiology and Statistics. This new post is funded by the National
Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and is available immediately until
December 2014, based in the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit at the

This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher with experience of data
analysis to develop their epidemiological expertise and analytical
skills, and obtain additional experience of project development, primary
data collection and research management within an important new national
programme of research into severe “near-miss” maternal morbidity. You
will be part of a multi-disciplinary team with expertise in
epidemiology, statistics, obstetrics and public health. You will be
responsible for developing analysis plans and for undertaking all the
data analysis for the agreed projects. You will develop new project
proposals and undertake primary data collection and hence gain
experience of literature review, collaboration with clinicians, data

reports and write articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
We are looking for someone with a postgraduate degree in epidemiology,
statistics or a health-related science along with practical experience
