About the Seminar
The Urban Energy Systems (UES) project at Imperial College aims to develop a systematic, integrated approach to the design and operation of urban energy systems, with a view to halving the energy intensity of cities. SynCity, a prototype integrated model system, is being developed to address this broad goal. This seminar will describe the various activities undertaken by the transport work stream of the UES, revolving around the development of an agent-based model. For more information, please refer to the UES website: http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/urbanenergysystems.
About the Speaker
Dr. Aruna Sivakumar is a post-doctoral researcher in the Centre for Transport Studies at Imperial College London. She has a PhD in transportation engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and has also worked for a couple of years at RAND Europe, a leading policy research think-tank. Aruna's research is focused on the use of micro-econometric methods in modeling travel behavior, and integrated land use-transport modeling.
About the CTS Seminar Series
The CTS seminar series aims to facilitate discussion on current research topics in the transport field. Seminars are held jointly with our colleagues in the Centre for Transport Studies at University College London. They are usually held on Wednesday afternoons at Imperial College London or University College London. Seminars are free of charge and open to all interested parties. Booking is not required.
