Dear colleagues,
coregistration of MD/FA maps to anatomical high-resolution T1 image is
typically performed indirectly via B0 image. Is there empirical evidence
that this approach is superior to (direct) coregistration of MD map to T1-
image? Can one anyhow advocate the letter approach, i.e. the direct
coregistration (response to reviewers)?
Coregistration was performed using mutual information 3D-rigid body
algorithm as implemented in spm5. This was done to allow extracting
regional MD-values using ROIs, which were defined on a T1 image (in
native space).
Best wishes,
Igor
