The Department of Neuroradiology (lab for developmental cognitive
neuroscience), Klinkum Rechts der Isar, Munich, Germany, is currently
recruiting a Ph.D fellow for a fMRI study of the neurodevelopmental
influences on cerebral connectivity in schizophrenic patients and children
and adolescents at high-risk for schizophrenia. The candidate should be
interested in the study of the developing brain and cerebral connectivity
(structural / functional /effective).
The fellow will work as part of a multidisciplinary team (e.g.
psychologists, physicists, computer scientists, physicians), integrating the
findings of a broad spectrum of approaches including fMRI (resting state
fMRI, task fMRI), diffusion tensor imaging, morphometry (cortical thickness,
gyrification), as well as data mining and clustering of fMRI data. There is
access to two 3T scanners with a high standard scientific equipment (e.g.
mr-compatible EEG, google system, mr-compatible EDA, eye tracking,
mr-compatible thermic stimulation).
Qualifications: The qualifications for a successful candidate include:
- completed MA in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or related fields
- interest in developmental psychology / developmental cognitive
- prior neuroimaging experience with functional MRI incl. skills in usage of
one or more common functional neuroimaging (SPM, FSL) packages desirable
Anticipated start date: beginning of 2010
