Hi Ben,
well, you have one image per subject, and when it comes to selecting
covariates, you can enter what you want to regress out (age, total GM
volume [see the list for how to do this and if it is a good idea or
not]) but also your effects of interest, i.e., your test score. After
estimating the model, you will then have to create a contrast that
assesses the effect of this covariate.
