One other point worth noting is that when Mike put a review of this book on
these pages it was then circulated to the SGMRG members (twice actually!!)
appropriately credited to being a review by Mike with his website details so
people could contact. This is something we have been doing for a while.
I do not know whether anyone purchased it from him as a result (or whether
anyone went direct) but had Mike not brought it to our attention it would
not have been advertised as widely.
I always welcome Mike's reviews. They are not just a blatant advert for his
services as although he (hopefully) gets something from it he has put
additional work into producing a review. Informing the list in this way is
beneficial to everyone. Putting his contact details on the bottom is
appropriate - I hope if anyone else passes on his reviews they also put the
contact details on.
The publisher benefits from more sales (& free advertising)
The mining history community benefit from knowing of the books
I can think of no other book seller that takes such a role in promoting the
books that they sell
Keep them coming Mike
