Security stepped up after thefts at Newcastle's City Library
From the article:
"Management at Newcastle’s new City Library were criticised when they opened
their multi-million pound city centre facility and decided not to ask new
members to produce ID and proof of address when they signed up.
Bosses have revealed more than 50 CDs and DVDs, believed to be worth
hundreds of pounds, have been checked out and not returned.
When library staff tried to contact the people who checked them out, they
discovered that false addresses had been provided."
