Cambridge University Library is seeking to appoint a Project Manager and
Project Officer for the Incremental Project, funded by JISC under its
Research Data Programme, to inform and improve research data curation
practice. Cambridge University Library will lead the project, which is
a collaboration with the University of Glasgow. Both are temporary posts
available until 31 March 2011.

Project Manager - Grade 7, £27,183 - 35,469 pa

Coordinating a team of three, the appointee will be responsible for
day-to-day management of the project, will undertake research to analyse
data management requirements within departments and research groups, and
will lead the implementation of appropriate data management solutions.
Applicants should have a good honours degree, preferably with research
experience or a postgraduate qualification, and possess project
management skills. They should be familiar with data repositories and
research methods in the sciences or social sciences and have an interest
in data curation.

Project Officer - Grade 6, £25,623 - £29,704 pa

The project officer will work within a team of three full-time staff to
identify requirements for the management of data created by researchers
within the Universities of Cambridge and Glasgow and deploy a pilot data
management infrastructure to address their needs. He or she will
undertake research to identify requirements in selected departments and
research groups, build on previous studies, both qualitative and
quantitative, and with the project manager will lead the implementation
of an appropriate data management solution, including training for
researchers. The project officer will also contribute to specification
of development of the DSpace@Cambridge repository technical
infrastructure to meet researchers requirements.
