Dear List Members,
I would like to announce a special session at the IEEE World Congress on
Computational Intelligence (WCCI2010) on 'Computational Intelligence
Approaches to Process Mining and Optimisation'. Papers are invited on
process mining and optimisation techniques that utilise computational
intelligence approaches (such as Evolutionary Computation, Fuzzy Systems and
Neural Networks). Please see the call for papers below for further details.
Apologies for any cross posting,
Regards,
Chris Turner

Part of:
2010 IEEE WORLD CONGRESS ON COMPUTATIONAL INTELLIGENCE (WCCI2010)
18 - 23 July, 2010
Barcelona, Spain

DEADLINE FOR PAPER SUBMISSION: 31 January, 2010
--------------------------------------------------------
OVERVIEW:
Process mining, as a practice, aims to automatically reconstruct a graphical
representation of a process from data (such data is normally in the form of
a set of process execution traces described in an event log). In an
increasingly complex business environment, there is a need for managers to
understand the processes they already have in place. Process mining enhances
this understanding. In addition Process Optimisation provides way of
improving processes to meet certain objectives in the presence of given
constraints. Process optimisation is considered as a problem of constructing
feasible business process designs with optimum attribute values such as
duration and cost. These relatively new practices have now gained acceptance
in both academia and the business world. This session aims to broaden and
strengthen the practices of CI based process mining and optimisation.
The WCCI2010 Special Session on 'Computational Intelligence Approaches to
Process Mining and Optimisation' invites submissions in areas of process
mining and process optimisation that utilise Computational Intelligence (CI)
techniques (encompassing Neural Networks, Fuzzy Systems and Evolutionary
techniques).
TOPICS OF INTEREST:
The topics of this special session include, but are not limited to:
• Process mining utilising CI techniques
• Process optimisation utilising CI techniques
• Optimisation of high dimensional processes
• Complexity of search space
• Mining of process disparities
• Integrating qualitative information in business process mining
and/or optimisation practices
• Real world application of process mining and optimisation
approaches
• Variable interaction in process optimisation problems
• Qualitative analysis of process mining and/or optimisation results
• Robust optimisation of processes
About WCCI2010
The 2010 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (IEEE WCCI 2010)
is the largest technical event in the field of computational intelligence.
It will host three conferences: the 2010 International Joint Conference on
Neural Networks (IJCNN 2010), the 2010 IEEE International Conference on
Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE 2010), and the 2010 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary
Computation (IEEE CEC 2010). IEEE WCCI 2010 will be held in Barcelona, a
Mediterranean city located in a privileged position on the north-eastern
coast of Spain. Barcelona combines history, art, architecture, and charm
within a pleasant, and efficient urban environment where meet old friends,
and make new ones. The congress will provide a stimulating forum for
scientists, engineers, educators, and students from all over the world to
discuss and present their research findings on computational intelligence.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE AND PUBLICATION:
The paper should be within the 8-page limit, including all figures, tables
and references. All final papers must be in PDF format. Please see
http://www.wcci2010.org/submission for templates and paper formatting
instructions.
Please submit your papers through the CEC2010 submission website (and select
the 'Computational Intelligence Approaches to Process Mining and
Optimisation' special session from the 'Main Research Topic' dropdown menu).
The website is: http://ieee-cis.org/conferences/cec2010/upload.php
All accepted papers will be included in the proceedings of WCCI2010.
