[EMS-NEWS]
I have had minimal response to this call, so can I suggest going on a wee
field trip to experience RE-RITE by the Oxo Tower. I have heard that it is
very good.
We will depart from EMS at 4.15pm, 10/11/09
Regards
John.
RE-RITE
Conduct, play and step inside the Philharmonia Orchestra with Esa-Pekka
Salonen as the Bargehouse comes alive with the sounds of Stravinsky’s The
Rite of Spring at the first ever orchestral digital residency.
“Being inside an orchestra is one of the biggest adrenalin rushes and
one that I want to share with the world.” – Esa-Pekka Salonen Principal
Conductor and Artistic Advisor
Open daily 3-15 November
10am-6pm (8pm Thurs & Fri)
FREE ADMISSION
Bargehouse
Oxo Tower Wharf
South Bank
SE1 9PH
Between 3 and 15 November the Bargehouse is home to the first ever
orchestral digital residency as Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Philharmonia
Orchestra transform the space into a huge virtual orchestra. Using
kilometers of cable and over 20 video projection screens, a 29-camera
audio-visual recording of the Orchestra performing Stravinsky’s The Rite
of Spring will bring the building alive and give you the chance to
experience an orchestra from the inside. Use the exhibition plan to see
how you can be a part of the orchestra.
