So I think your 'jiggling' is pretty similar to the method that Paul
mentions (Monte Carlo sampling of multiple datasets generated about the
points predicted from the best fit within the error estimates of the data
points) with subtle differences. For example, I think that for a time or
concentration series, the methods in other software probably treat those
values as "true" and so only 'jiggle' the observed parameter.
