Dear all,
My apologies for cross-posting. Please forward to anyone who might be
interested.
The second meeting of the Historical Discourse Reading Group will take place
at Queen Mary College in the Arts Building in room G.02 on Wednesday 4th
November from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.
The second text will be Bourdieu's essay "The Economics of Linguistic
Exchanges", which you can download under the following link:
http://webspace.qmul.ac.uk/sbaumgarten/
At the beginning of the next meeting we will discuss which texts to tackle
during the remaining meetings. Potential candidates would be texts by
Butler, Derrida, Habermas, Bakhthin, Eagleton, Luhmann, or any other texts
you might suggest. Any text would need to be related to the intersection of
language and culture in the broadest sense.
Until then wishing you a good reading experience, Stefan
