23 October 2009
Dear Colleague,
I am delighted to invite you to the launch of Stamp Out Poverty's new paper:
Missing Millions
which throws a spotlight on the millions of pounds that are lost each year by UK development agencies when purchasing local currency to carry out their work abroad. The paper includes important recommendations that could result in considerable savings to the UK NGO sector of as much as £30 million a year, possibly more.
The launch will take place in association with the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS).
Friday 13th November 2009
6:30 - 8:30 pm
Khalili Lecture Theatre, School of Oriental and African Studies,
University of London, Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, London, WC1 (nearest tube: Russell Square)
The first hour will involve a short presentation by the author and inputs from a panel, which include representatives from donors, NGOs and academics before opening out to a question and answer session with the audience. In the second hour there will be a reception, which will allow for informal networking. For catering purposes it is important to RSVP: [log in to unmask]
We very much look forward to welcoming you to what we believe will be an extremely good event.
Yours faithfully,
David Hillman - Coordinator
