Applications are invited for the post of Senior Statistician to work on the CLAHRC Health Systems project in the School of Community Based Medicine. CLAHRC is a £20m health sciences and healthcare innovation initiative between the University and the NHS in Greater Manchester. The initiative comprises research and implementation themes to improve vascular health. The CLAHRC Health Systems research theme aims to produce realistically complex and interactive models for understanding and planning health services. To achieve this we are bringing together Epidemiologists, Statisticians, Econometricians, Health Informaticians and Computer Scientists into an intensive multi-disciplinary modelling activity.
The post holder will provide methodological leadership for statistical aspects of the project. The ideal candidate will be educated to higher degree level, have experience of scientific research in an academic or industrial environment and have a strong mathematical aptitude and statistical knowledge, including graph-based modelling and Bayesian inference with large scale systems. Additionally they will have the ability to work effectively within teams to achieve timely and valued objectives as well as a strong track record of leading contributions to research achievements.
Salary
£36,533 - £44,931 p.a.
