First Announcement
The European Meetings of Statisticians have already been established among the major international meetings covering a broad area of disciplines, such as mathematical statistics, biostatistics, computational statistics, financial statistics, applied probability and reliability. The meetings are held under the auspices of the Bernoulli Society for Mathematical Statistics and Probability.
The 28th European Meeting of Statisticians (EMS 2010), will be held from August 17 to August 22, 2010 at the University of Piraeus in Greece.
The purpose of EMS 2010 is to provide a forum where researchers from universities throughout the world, as well as practitioners, can discuss current problems, new approaches and future directions in the fields of Probability and Statistics. Young researchers and PhD students are especially invited to contribute papers. Important dates and deadlines are available in the webpage of the conference http://stat.unipi.gr/ems2010.
Venue
The conference will be held in Greece at the University of Piraeus. Piraeus, conveniently located close to Athens (20 minutes journey time from Athens downtown by metro) is Greece’s major port where all ferries to Aegean islands leave from.
The University of Piraeus is situated at the Piraeus city centre, only 15 minutes on foot away from the Metro terminal while bus and Tram connections are also available in nearby spots. The University main building, where the conference will take place is less than 5 minutes walk from the colourful yacht port of Pasalimani.
