So I phoned up Globalsign (who own the GTE Cybertrust root) and
their sales chap told me they don't offer any certs commercially
under the GTE root.
In fact, he wasn't aware they even still used the GTE root for the
JANET-UK service (though he was aware of said service). So perhaps
take the above with a pinch of salt.
Poor thing, I also detected that Globalsign were quite hurt by the
loss of contract to Comodo.

Well, the same sales chap insisted that Globalsign were not going to
revoke current certs, and this was "scaremongering on the part of
JANET" (huh ?!) It would seem to me that revoking the certs is a
silly thing to do - only likely to drive away future business.
I'm sure we'll hear more about this in due course.
