It does to me - I'm usually very particular about how I dress in SL. I
was in a low-prim/low-lag outfit to keep the ARC in the green - I
usually wear clothes/hair/AO that put my ARC right up there in the
orange or possibly even red.
BTW - have any of you seen the report about dress/appearance in SL for
avatars representing their workplace?
I don't have the link here at work but, in short, some business group
has done a study and concluded that anyone representing their workplace
in a VW should appear and dress conservatively.
I found it quite interesting because I think that, whilst it may be true
for big business, it isn't so true in education - the people we are
communicating with are likely to be outrageous too.
On the other hand is it a distraction being taught by a dragon, an alien
or a dungeon mistress (oh wait, scratch that last one....)?
On a third hand, another recent report concluded that in RL
pupils/students learnt more from teachers who were smartly dressed.
