As part of the Manchester Biomedical Research Centre, Nowgen explores the impact of new genetics knowledge on future healthcare, through:

We currently have a vacancy for a Research & Evaluation Officer:
You will have responsibility for the management and delivery of public consultation and social research projects to inform Nowgen's Public Programmes. You will undertake the evaluation of projects developed by the Nowgen Public Programmes Team and maintain the approved strategic direction of research and evaluation projects within Nowgen's Public Programmes. Working with the Public Programmes Manager you will develop, commission and manage research projects with users of genetic medicine and related clinical services and other user groups in dialogue with scientists, clinicians and policymakers, to inform public engagement and policy at Nowgen
You will have a postgraduate degree in a social science or related subject or equivalent with an interest and basic knowledge of genetics. You will have 2 years relevant post graduate experience in social research, with at least 1 year developing and delivering projects related to public engagement with science or education. A post graduate qualification in social science methodology would be an advantage. You will have experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment, with excellent communication skills, motivation and the ability to work well in a team. You will have excellent IT skills and have a flexible and pro-active approach to work.
