Dear all,
Please see (below and attached) the response received from ECPR to my
email of complaint regarding a volume on the 'masters' [sic] of
political science which completely excluded women. Please note, in
particular, their expression of interest in suggestions of women (and
perhaps a more appropriate title!) to be included in a second volume.
While it should not be necessary to have to point out women scholars
of note, I still think we should take them up on their offer, and
provide a list of suggestions. I have my own list, but as I am
contacting them on behalf of the group, I would like to invite you all
to send me your own suggestions, from which I will draw up a shortlist
of six or so scholars. It would seem that they are more interested in
empiricists than theorists, which itself is contentious, but you might
want to bear this in mind when suggesting nominees.
I would like to reply on Friday afternoon, so please try to get
suggestions to me by then. I will also pass my list on to the ECPR
Gender and Politics standing group, who are also orchestrating a
campaign of protest about women's exclusion from this book.
Best wishes,
Rainbow
