Ha, Les Murray, almost as bad as abstract expressionist painting.
BBQ verse is conceptual avant garde experimental side shadowing
narrative. (Despite my sense of humour my sympathies and interests
generally lie with avant garde experimental.)
It seems to me Lawrence Upton may have it backwards in asking first for
a definition of avant garde. I would first like to read these poets and
from this take a look at the relations of forces which characterises
these writing formations and from that the term avant garde may be
understood. To ask a-priori what avant garde is, has already decided
there can be not such a thing. best Chris Jones
PS chris cheek is the only poet I recognise so may need to go googling
my way to death on a never ending list of advertising revenue.
