medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Hi John,
My second post on costume was wider qua period and added information about
other period costume,
I stand corrected about the difference between mass and the celebration of
matins, but didn't regular orders like the Bendedictines and Cistercians
wear special (warm) choir habits which were worn over their normal daywear
or even their chemises, when they were called from theit beds for matins or
lauds? This would cover any female dress too.
