For what it's worth, our system, MuseumIndex+, has a granularity
of one year for BC dates, and one day for AD dates. Actually,
this was chosen to allow us a further reach back into pre-history
without having to use more storage space for date fields. I'm not
aware of anyone ever asking us for more BC resolution.
