In response to comments made on the list, I'd like to clarify a few points regarding authentication on the ICE Virtual Library.

We have completed the necessary engineering work for Athens and Shibboleth and we are awaiting a response from the UK Access Management Federation before rolling out the functionality for customers.

We are aiming to make both available this month, and we will report back to the list when this has been done.

If you do have any queries in the meantime, please contact me or Maria Davis at [log in to unmask] and we'll be happy to help.

Best,
Jason

Hi Gillian,

yes, I agree with Terry, I think that you were just misinformed but I will make sure we pass on concerns as well.

Gill,

I think you must just have got a response from someone who didn't know what EZproxy is!

We are linking to the ICE Virtual Library via EZproxy with no problems. I understand that they have configured Shibboleth but are waiting on the UK Federation to test their implementation.

If you have EZproxy, I'd get cracking and update your links to point to the new site. It's a vast improvement on having to go to two different sites for recent and archive content.

I'm told that a new release is imminent which will speed it up too.
