Dear All,
My name is Dejan Mitrovic, and I am part of InProgress- a multidisciplinary
group of students from Imperial College and the Royal College of Art, London.
We are conducting a project on human-induced climate change and on ways in
which it threatens the right of all humans to water.
It is our aim to implement an innovative engineering solution for the provision of
potable water in extreme conditions to those that need it. It is our endeavor to
research and develop an environmentally sound technology as part of a system
for the sustainable provision of water.
We have decided to focus our research on the desalination of salt water. We
are very interested in Biomimicry and would like to drive our project in that
direction. Are there any examples of desalination in nature that could be an
inspiration for our project (I have come across brief descriptions of desalination
by Mangroves and Seagulls' glands). Are there other desalination technologies
in nature?
Thank you very much in advance,
Dejan Mitrovic
