The Grid 2 has a number of solutions that might help you. Hands up those
who guessed that I might suggest that!
Option 1: The Grid 2 can be connected to a mobile phone over Bluetooth,
initiate a call (you can enter the number), answer a call and hang up. You
can also send/receive sms (text messages).
Note: the number of mobile phones supported is limited (many new phones
don't support the older interface that we use) so please check before buying
a phone for this purpose.
Option 2 is to take a remote controlled phone (such as the Sero) and control
it with an environment controller (such as the Tira or UUIRT). This has the
advantage that it uses the land line (which may be cheaper).
Option 3 is Skype, which can be used to call out to a phone number (via
SkypeOut) and provide a phone number to receive calls (via SkypeIn), all at
competitive prices.
You may not need The Grid 2 to do this, but if you need the access features
then it could help. Note that you cannot enter a new number in TG2 to make
a SkypeOut call (existing contacts only, I'm afraid), but you can do Skype
chats to other PC users.
In all cases, you could make a really straightforward grid with just the
phone controls on it.

Subject: pc & phone
Dear all
Can anyone tell me of an application that would let a pc link to mobile
phone (by Bluetooth?) & let the user answer the phone by pc? Preferably
dialling via pc too.
I'm sure this must be out there but I can't find it!
