*Monatshefte für deutschsprachige Literatur und Kultur*, now publishing volume 101, was founded in 1899 and is the oldest continuing journal of German studies in the U.S. It offers scholarly articles dealing with the literatures and cultures of German-speaking countries from both most advanced and traditional theoretical and historical perspectives. *Monatshefte* is open to all scholarly approaches that help to improve our understanding of literature and culture. Each issue contains extensive book reviews of current scholarship in German Studies. Every winter issue contains the comprehensive Personalia section informing about all German programs in the US and Canada, including visiting professors, promotions, and finished Ph.D. theses.
