Hi,
We are currently carrying out a JISC funded study - 'Assessing the Role of Digital Information Management Practice in Reducing the Environmental Impact of ICT Use in Higher Education'. (http://www.greeningim.org.uk)
As part of this study we are carrying our a series of case studies which will consist of practical analysis of collections of information or data held by at least four different institutions to determine the real-world potential for implementing more energy efficient data management measures. We would like to include a case study focussed on an Institutional Web Service. So we were wondering if anyone from this list would be willing to take part? Participation would involve:
(i) answering a series of questions designed to identify whether information management techniques could be used in your context to reduce the impact of digital resources on the environment
(ii) providing feedback on a Greening Information Management framework which we are developing
We would also be keen to talk to any institution who has been looking at information management from a greening ICT perspective.
If you are interested in taking part in our project, please contact me and I can explain further details.
Thanks for your help,
Diane
