The case Peter mentioned was of importance because it resulted in the Stannary Courts in their then form being unable to continue, I think this would be described in Pennington's Stannary Law. There are various newspaper references at the time which I think refers to Yorkshire lead dressing techniques (eg crushing rolls being used) which in view of the highly refractory nature of the ore & fine grained cassiterite were probably totally useless. It was only the introduction of flotation at these mines in the CGF period in the 1960's that satisfactory recoveries could be made (the mines of course being later better known asw Wheal Jane). I think there are also refs to Hall being involved in mines in the Redruth - Illogan area, I need to look for these, I think in the Jenkin letter books in the Courtenay Library.
