medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I paid the equivalent of $12 (plus postage) for my copy about two years ago. I would imagine that that is the going rate. It is a slim paperback volume, small octavo size, about 80 or 100 pages.
The book is either a brilliant piece of scholarship, or an uncharitable kicking of the saintly Gregory Dix's "A Detection of Aumbries" (similar price) - depending on your point of view and/or confessional allegience. I must admit that I haven't got around to reading either of my copies yet (I don't think one will make much sense without the other), and I may still put it off until I am dead. The point at issue is the interpretation of architectural details in the light of something or other (which I have forgotten!) that is a bone of contention between Anglo-Catholics and Roman Catholics - or that was when the two books were written, at any rate.
Sorry I can't be more help!
